Why We Need Your Support

The importance of sustaining The Center for Sexuality & Gender Diversity in Central California has never been more critical. Since opening our doors, we've seen a remarkable increase in awareness of our services and the broader issues of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. This visibility has drawn countless individuals, families, allies, and advocates to us from across the Central California region, significantly growing our service numbers from about 1,000 individuals per year in our early years to now assisting 250 to 300 individuals monthly. With an estimated 36,000 to 50,000 2SLGBTQIA+ residents in Kern County, the demand for comprehensive 2SLGBTQIA+ focused services—from educational workshops to support groups to health and wellness services—is expected to rise. Our collective effort is key to achieving a brighter future for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, a future where everyone can thrive, celebrate their identity, and lead fulfilling lives as productive members of society. To continue our mission and maintain our two facilities, we rely on community donations of approximately $50,000 annually.
