Programs Designed To Guide 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth In Their Unique Journeys
Our 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and young adult programming offers teens and young adults a nurturing environment for growth and self-expression. With activities ranging from a Discord Server for virtual engagement to in-person Game Nights and social activities like reading clubs and support groups, we provide spaces for positive interactions and personal development. Our Teen Community Space and various activities for young adults encourage exploration, connection, and thriving into adulthood.
YAYA Discord Server
Explore our Youth & Young Adult (YAYA) Discord Server, a vibrant digital community crafted specifically for the youth and young adults of Kern County. This platform offers a secure, supportive, and inclusive space for young people aged 13-26 to connect with peers, seek support, and engage in affirming conversations.
The server is neatly divided into two sections: one for Teens (13-17) and another for Young Adults (18-26), ensuring discussions are age-appropriate and relevant. It opens 2-3 times a month for 4+ hour sessions during which our staff are present to facilitate Open Chat sessions, helping to guide discussions and provide support.
Each month, we host dedicated digital hangouts—one for Teens and another for Young Adults—via voice/video, fostering a more personal and engaging experience. Additionally, for those seeking more private support, our "Private Chat with Staff" feature allows participants to open confidential conversations with one of our staff members. These private channels are always open for posting questions, concerns, or requests for support, with staff responding on a daily or weekly basis.
